Mission Statement

The Maine Coalition for Peace and Justice is a statewide organization of individual citizens and Maine group representatives working collectively and nonviolently for social equality, economic justice, direct democracy, and regenerative environmental policies.

Goals

1. To model a more just, peaceful and sustainable way of living, working and organizing ourselves in order that we bring about the change we so deeply desire in the world.

2. To facilitate communication, cooperation and sharing of information and resources statewide, nationally and globally.

3. To build a strong alliance which can mobilize resources efficiently and effectively for statewide and regional events, conferences and projects.

4. To pursue innovative tactics and strategies to abolish militarism, inequality and corporate domination, and strengthen the people's control over our economy, environment and governance.

5. To share our understanding of the various peace, justice and environmental issues and concerns.
